The Larimar Miner Team

Larimar knowledge is distributed. It belongs not only to a founder or a website, but to miners, sorters, lapidaries, jewellers, geologists, photographers, administrators and customer-support staff whose decisions shape the material and its record.

Larimar Miner is a deliberately small team, and most people here wear more than one hat. We describe the work by role below, and we will credit people by name once they have agreed to be included. The day-to-day is organised around the path a stone actually takes, from the ground to your hands. The roles below describe the work itself; in a team this small, several of them are often carried by the same person.

Our sourcing team maintains the relationships with the people who bring rough larimar out of the ground. They negotiate, track provenance as far back as it can honestly be traced, and keep a record of where a parcel came from. They are also the ones who say no when a price or a story does not hold up.

Sorting is where a heap of blue-grey rock becomes something you can describe. This part of the team grades by colour, pattern and clarity, separates material by intended use, and documents each lot so that what we say later matches what we held.

Our lapidaries cut, shape and polish, and work with the jewellers who set finished stones. They decide how to honour the pattern already inside a piece rather than fight it, and they flag anything — a fracture, a soft inclusion — that a buyer should know about before it ships.

The documentation team writes and maintains what you read on this site. They cross-check claims, label belief as belief and observation as observation, and keep the citations honest. When we are not sure, this is the team whose job is to say so in plain language.

Support and administration handle orders, questions, returns and the quieter machinery that keeps a small operation running. They are usually the first people you will actually speak to.

We have not yet published individual profiles. When they appear here, each will carry a short, factual biography rather than a marketing pitch: a person's role at Larimar Miner, their relevant background, the languages they work in, and a general location. We will not list invented degrees, exact years of experience or inflated titles. Where a team member holds a formal qualification, it will be stated plainly and only when it is real.

A representative profile might read something like this:

Their write-up would describe practical experience in grading and lot documentation, present responsibilities on the sorting bench, and any relevant training — kept to what can be verified, and updated by the person whenever it changes.

Not everyone who shapes this work is on staff. People who review individual articles or share field knowledge will receive a contributor record too, with the exact nature of their contribution stated rather than implied:

Crediting contributors this precisely is partly courtesy and partly accountability: it tells you who stands behind a given claim, and it lets us correct the record cleanly if a contribution turns out to need revisiting.

No one is added here as picturesque background. We obtain permission for portrait, name, role and biography before publishing, and we allow people to revise or remove their entry where that is legally and editorially appropriate. A team page should be a list of people who chose to be on it — not a stage set.
